Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role
In this role, you will bring your talents developing software to provide great experiences for our members. You will:
  • Implement features across our platform, including websites, mobile apps, API integrations, IoT, and machine learning
  • Research, query, and debug complex code to support user needs
  • Analyze feature usage along with technical metrics to find efficiencies
  • Develop solutions to enhance scaled processing of our growing fleet of IoT systems
  • Develop unit and integration test behaviors for new and existing code base
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to optimize deployment operations and efficiency
  • Manage and extend AWS cloud architecture to meet growing scale requirements
    • A successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and design skills to deliver business value in a fast-paced environment in a growing organization. You are self-driven, communicate and collaborate effectively with different technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you can adapt to changing conditions along with the team to meet customer demands.
    Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline
  • 7+ years as a professional software developer
  • Demonstrate mastery of programming with Java or other OOP languages
  • Mastery of T-SQL language and database maintenance of MySql or other DBMS
  • Experience working with NoSql databases, especially DynamoDB
  • 4+ years managing AWS platform infrastructure
  • EC2, IAM, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis, et al
  • Mastery of Git, Unit Test frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
  • Experience operating services in Linux environments
    • Preferred Qualification
    An ideal candidate will bring the right mixture of the requirements above and experience with:
  • Participated in Machine Learning projects
  • Experience with IoT systems and analyzing sensor data
  • Interest in software for mechanical or HVAC applications
